Hotel Spotlight: Country Inns and Suites

We had a chance to catch up with Michael Jarrard, Director, Brand Sales, Americas for Carlson Rezidor. Hotel brands under the Carlson Rezidor umbrella include: Country Inns and Suites By Carlson, Radisson, Radisson Blu, Radisson Red, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson, and Quorvus. Michael represented Country Inns and Suites by treating CLS to their signature “Be Our Guest Breakfast.”

Country Inns and Suites exemplifies the “3 C’s” that make them so unique: “Caring, Comfortable, and Consistent”– all delivered with “A Touch of Home.” Because of its consistently comfortable amenities, Country Inns and Suites serves as an ideal fit for corporate travelers, especially those staying for extended business trips.

Caring: The 27-year-old brand shares Creative Lodging Solutions’ devotion to community outreach, which they demonstrate in their charity networks. They partner with ProLiteracy Worldwide, an international program to promote child and adult literacy. They also sponsor an inter-hotel lending initiative, the Read It and Return Lending Library, which allows guests to check out books that they may return to any North American Country Inns and Suites location. Each returned book earns $1 for literacy.

Comfortable: Country Inns and Suites is well-known for their “Be Our Guest Breakfast,” which offers a rotating lineup of great options. We were surprised by the variety of foods available, including omelets and fresh fruit. To add to the “at home” feel, the brand offers only real dinnerware for buffets because everything tastes better on a real plate.

Consistent: Country Inns and Suites strives to deliver a brand standard of excellence with extensive employee training in customer service. The brand promises a caring and comfortable hospitality experience that guests can count on every time they visit a Country Inns and Suites property.

What’s New: Although previously centered near airport locations, Country Inns and Suites plans expansion into more urban areas in the near future. Generation 4 design updates the chain’s image with a slightly more modern feel but the same “Touch of Home” its guests have enjoyed since 1987.
