20 May How CLS™ Runs Color Me Rad!
May marks Physical Fitness and Sports Month. CLS™ appreciates the values of healthier choices and fitness as well as a fun employee culture. What better way to combine these ideals than to sweat out three colorful, exciting miles with your coworkers?
Take a look at some of our prismatic employees running RAD!
About twice a year (once in spring and once in fall), CLS™ers head out to run the Color Me Rad 5K in one of the parks in Lexington, KY. We all don white clothing and get pelted with brightly colored corn starch. Sounds fun, right? Sure, it’s a bit unconventional, but everyone who’s experienced Rad can attest to a fun color run as vibrant as our work culture at CLS™.
Color Me Rad’s concept is loosely based on the Indian Festival of Colors, otherwise known as Holi. In ancient tradition, Holi symbolises the beginning of spring and a fresh start. To CLS™, it represents another kind of new beginning and a part of a larger tradition of our Biggest Loser competition–a biannual event based on the popular TV show. Contestants compete in their choice of two categories– a group whose goal is to lose 35 or more lbs. or a group whose goal is to lose fewer than 35 lbs. CLS™ also features a tobacco cessation program and gym reimbursement to help support our employees’ health objectives.
“From an HR perspective, I believe improving our employees’ health should play a major role in our company’s incentives. Good health supports mental health, which boosts employee satisfaction and work ethic. Seeing so many coworkers reach important milestones while working at CLS™, such as quitting tobacco use and losing weight, gives us a sense of accomplishment because we offered them some resources to help them attain their goals,” says Senior Director of Human Resources, Jackie Ellis.A Rad Place To Work
